Tips To Help You Be An Organized Mom
Track Baby’s Schedule
So one of the best ways to organize your day is to track your baby’s schedule. Make note of their feeding times, nap times, and roughly how long each activity takes. Once you have an idea of your baby’s schedule you will be able to plan your day around it.
Books are available for you to easily track your baby’s daily activities. You can also track night time activities so you can set a schedule if you share feeding duties.
Try Not To Hoard
This is quite a difficult one but try not to hang onto baby stuff that you no longer use. It may be hard to say goodbye to all that cute little newborn stuff but baby will go through things so fast that it will easily turn to clutter.
Instead, sort through your baby’s things once a month and clear out what they no longer use. You may have family or friends that could use them or you could donate them to charity.
It’s not easy but it’s much better to keep an organized and clutter free environment for you and your baby.

Use The Space Under Baby’s Crib
Baby comes with a lot of stuff. You should utilise every spare bit of spare storage space you can.
The space under your baby’s crib is perfect to store things that you aren’t going to need everyday. Like your stockpile of diapers or sheets and blankets for the crib.
Organize Baby’s Drawers
Keep your baby’s drawers tidy and well organized with these super useful drawer dividers. Then each type of clothing can go in its own little compartment.
You will be able to quickly grab what you need without a fuss and will never have to spend 10 minutes looking for baby’s socks (that would be me!).
Organize Baby’s Closet By Size
During your pregnancy you will probably buy clothes for your baby in several different sizes as we all know that newborn size won’t last 5 minutes. Family and friends will who buy your baby gifts will also buy in various different sizes.
To save confusion organize your baby’s closet with size dividers so you can get your hands straight on the clothes that fit them at any given time.
Keep A Laundry Basket Beside The Changing Station
If you keep a small laundry basket next to each baby changing station you will be able to drop baby’s clothing straight in. Saving you going off to another part of the house with the laundry which will save you a bit of time.
Then when it is time to do the laundry you just need to go and collect each basket. Your routine will be smoother if you have everything to hand.
Storage Baskets Are Your Best Friend
At the end of a busy day with your baby you are going to find that there is quite a bit of stuff lying around. If you keep a storage basket in each room you can just toss your baby’s soft toys and blankets etc into them at the end of each day keeping everything tidy and in one place.
You can even get storage baskets with a lid so that the jumble of items you toss into the basket are hidden away. In the morning you are going to know just where everything is.
Have More Than One Changing Station
Having everything to hand is key when you are a tired new mom. It’s a good idea to have a baby changing station in every room that you spend a good amount of time in.
Keep a basket or storage box stocked with all of the diaper changing essentials and a change of clothes just in case. Then if you live in a two storey house you won’t need to climb the stairs to baby’s nursery each time you need to change them.
Order Baby Supplies Online
You are going to need a lot of supplies for your baby and you will go through them fast. Ordering in bulk online means it is delivered to your door and you should never run out of everything. Then you should have no last minute dashes to the store because you are out of diaper cream.
Amazon has pretty much everything you need and you can even get money off diaper subscriptions. With a regular delivery you can ensure that you have all of the baby essentials you need.
Set Up A Breastfeeding Station
If you are breastfeeding your baby then you may find it stressful at times, take it from me it can be rough. So you don’t want to be worried about finding everything you need when it’s time for a feed.
Keep a breastfeeding station in any room that you nurse your baby. It will make your life so much easier if everything is there in one storage container.
Have a comfortable chair with a table beside then have all of your breast pads, nipple shields, nipple cream, burp cloths and hand sanitizer in a container beside you.
Make sure you check and restock each nursing station regularly to avoid running out of anything.
Keep A Postpartum Basket In Your Bathrooms
Postpartum recovery can be the worst and you will want to heal as fast as possible. It’s a good idea to keep all of your postpartum essentials together in one place.
Get yourself a pretty basket and keep all of your items for your postpartum in them. If you have more than one bathroom it’s much more efficient to keep a set of items in each one.
Keep Restocking Your Diaper Bag
Each time you return home from an outing with your baby take time to check and restock your diaper bag. Make sure you have all of the essentials for the next time you leave the house so you can just pick up your bag and go.
What to include in your diaper bag:
- Bibs or muslin cloths
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Bottles if needed
- Diaper bags
- Swaddle blanket
- A change of clothes
- Diaper rash cream
- A pacifier if needed
- Spare breast pads if you are breastfeeding
- Soft toy
Have A Bottle Feeding Station In Your Bedroom
If you bottle feed then you may not feel like wandering through the house getting everything ready to feed your baby at 3am.
If you keep a bottle feeding station in your bedroom right beside your bed then you will have everything you need when baby wakes up.
Make sure you have bottles, formula, water, and a bottle warmer by your bed. This will save you so much time so you and baby can get back to sleep as quickly as possible.
Set Your Alarm To Go Off Early
If you set your alarm for 30 to 45 minutes before your baby wakes up you will be able to get ready for the day without interruption.
This is one is definitely easier said than done but is so worth it. If you are washed, dressed and have eaten some breakfast by the time your baby wakes you will be able to completely devote your time to them.
You will be able to concentrate on your baby’s morning routine without having to try and snatch 5 minutes here and there for yourself. You will feel much better for it and ready to start the day.
Set Aside Some Me Time
Last but definitely not least you need to take care of yourself. You can’t be a super organized and productive new mom if you are run down, exhausted, and mentally drained.
Of course you can expect a little of that, it comes with the territory but you can do your best to minimise the damage. Try to make sure you get plenty of rest, eat a healthy balanced diet, and stay hydrated.
Set aside some time each week to do some you love. It can be anything, getting lost in a good book, exercising, or even just painting your nails and pampering yourself for a short while.
Whatever it is you decide to do make sure you take some time to relax. The lower your stress levels the more organized and productive you can be.
